Your preconceived notion that there are good tarot cards, bad tarot cards, and neutral tarot cards is common. And even though there is accuracy with that, the way you view them can change that as well. You wonder now, how can you possibly view a dismal and heartbreaking card such as the Three of Swords in a positive light? Believe it or not, you can. You can look at blessings in disguise if you will. The last thing you want to do is pull a card such as the Tower or the Devil in a reading. You would much rather get the Sun or the Star, or the Nine of Cups. However, if you end up getting a card with a bad rap, how do you handle it? How can you look at the bright side of a negative card? Let’s go over the seven common ones right now and look at them delivering blessings in disguise.

Death

Death

The dreaded Death card. You may realize that it rarely comes up to warn you of physical death, except being cases of readings about those who are terminally ill in a hospice setting. However, anytime you get the Death card, it signifies an ending to something. One example is that I pulled the Death card one day during the summer as I was about to look forward to my morning walk in the woods. I knew it was not going to be good news since I pulled that card, and no, I did not fear I was going to die. However, my walk did within minutes as I sprained my ankle. That ended my time in the woods.

However, Death can also represent starting new cycles, a rebirth, and a transformation. Think about a first-time mom giving birth as that is an example of what the Death card represents. Her old self is gone as she is now a mom. There you go.

The Tower

The Tower

The Tower

Oh, the dreaded Tower. No one wants to see the Tower because it is a card that represents destruction, upheavals, and disasters. Think about the year 2020, as that has been literally the year of the Tower. Who would have expected that the world would have shut down due to a global pandemic a year ago? In addition to murder hornets entering the scene, and then other unwelcomed upheavals happening.

However, the Tower also represents an opportunity to rebuild after destruction as well as having breakthroughs. Having breakthroughs are always welcome. If you are struggling with a task because you are confused about what to do, then getting the Tower, in this case, would be a good thing. It means you will have a breakthrough and figure out what to do with it.

The Devil

The Devil

The Devil

The Devil is another card that no one likes to see. That card represents addiction, obsession, as well as materialism, and being enslaved. Let’s not forget about how it also represents hedonism. That card comes up when you are struggling with an addiction or an unhealthy obsession that you are struggling to release.

However, the positive thing about the Devil is that it represents commitment as well. If you are working hard with a particular task, and the Devil comes up, it shows that you are really committed to sticking to the task until completion. The Devil can also mean being playful and having a rebellious side that likes to challenge authority. Sometimes you need to do that, and the Devil can represent simply having fun.

Three Of Swords

Three of Swords

Three of Swords

Ouch, when you get the Three of Swords, that is the heartbreak card, and whenever you have this card, you will end up with sadness and grief. You will be heartbroken. That is the card that represents suffering. That is one of the cards that no one wants to see in a tarot reading.

However, on the flip side, the Three of Swords also represents cutting away lies and painful truths. Even though some truths are harrowing, at least there is no deception involved. That card can also help you make a logical decision now that you know the truth about something, even though it hurts. For instance, you are a runner that injured your leg very badly in a devastating accident. You found out that you cannot resume your running career even if your leg heals with physical therapy. That is a painful truth to hear, and you will end up grieving for that loss. However, at least you are not given false hope about being able to go back to running. And you can then make plans to do other things with your life that may surprisingly give you plenty of enjoyment.

Five Of Pentacles

Five of Pentacles

Five of Pentacles

No one wants to see the Five of Pentacles either, as it represents debt, poverty, as well as any physical hardship. However, at the same time, this card allows you to learn to become resourceful as it encourages you to look for assistance. The card also encourages you to ask for help since you are in a difficult position. If you face some financial hardships due to some unexpected expenses that came up, you will have no choice but to reach out and look for assistance. If you are not the type to reach out for help because you don’t like to impose, as you are not alone for feeling that way – you are now in a position where you don’t have a choice for the sake of survival.

Ten Of Swords

Ten of Swords

Ten of Swords

The one card that people dread the most is getting the Ten of Swords because that is the card that represents final endings, betrayal, and backstabbing. However, if you want to look at the bright side of this card, it also represents an ending to suffering. Especially if you were in a terrible relationship, as this card can actually bring you a lot of relief, that is a sign that the relationship is over. That card can represent the worst of anything being over as well. And what was hidden is now revealed. So those are some good things right there.

Nine of Swords

Nine of Swords

Nine of Swords

The Nine of Swords is the nightmare card. That is the card that represents anxiety and stress that keeps you up at night. What good can come out of this card? I see a lot of good because this card is a reminder that any anxiety I feel is in my head and not really happening. If you cannot stop worrying about something, you will know that you need to do something about it. Perhaps looking into therapy is what this card is telling you to do as well.

There are also other cards that no one wants to see come up in readings, such as the Five of Cups, Five of Swords, Seven of Swords, The Moon, and The Hanged Man. However, there are positive messages that you will find in those cards as well. Can you figure out what they are?
