Tarot Has So Many Excellent Purposes
Tarot can also be a tool for creativity and self-expression. It is just so much you can do with the tarot as it is so versatile. Here are some ideas on using the tarot in your creative pursuits.
Tarot For Writing Or Painting
You can use the tarot as a prompt for writing or painting. Pick a card at random and use the image and symbolism as inspiration for your work. For example, if you have issues with writing blocks and are unsure if you know what you want to write about since you are drawing blanks, all you need to do is pull a card. The card will help you develop images in your mind and stir up creativity, in general, to come up with topics to write about which would solve the writer block issue. There are so many other things you can use tarot for, which can do so much for you.
Create A Tarot Journal
Create a tarot journal and use it as a way to document your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Draw a tarot card each day and write about what it means to you. And when you draw the card, go deep with it. What feelings come up? What do you think, and how do you feel? Write all of it down to get to know everything about yourself and what makes you tick. Tarot is good for dreams.
Use The Tarot For Dream Exploration
Use the tarot as a tool for exploring your dreams and subconscious mind. First, keep a dream journal and record any symbols or images that stand out to you, then look up the tarot card that corresponds to those symbols. You will want to keep the dream journal and your tarot deck by your bedside. Once you wake up, you can write your dreams in your journal before the dreams fade as your conscious mind takes over. Then pull the cards and explore your dreams more!
Tarot Is Good For Decision-Making
You can use the tarot to help you make decisions. If you’re feeling unsure about something, consult the tarot for guidance. Draw a card and see what message it has for you. You can get an idea of what decision to make. However, when it comes to big decisions, you can draw a card, and you will know what decision to make. But if the decision involves others, you will want to tell others how you feel about the decision (you don’t have to say to them that you drew a card if they are not open to that), but once they hear your input, it will get them to think. For more minor decisions, tarot is excellent!
Make Your Own Deck
One of the most creative things you can do with tarot is to create your tarot deck, as I did with the Penguin tarot. I love penguins, so this was perfect! This is a great way to put your spin on the tarot and build a unique deck. There are a few different ways to create your tarot deck. You can either design your cards or find a tarot deck that you like and then modify it to suit your needs.
If you decide to design your tarot cards, you will need first to choose a theme. This can be anything from traditional tarot symbolism to something unique. Then, once you have selected a piece, you will need to design each card individually. This can be a time-consuming process, but it is also fun. Finally, once you have created all of your tarot cards, you will need to print them out and cut them to size.
If you prefer to modify an existing tarot deck, you can remove some of the current cards and replace them with ones you have designed yourself. This is a less time-consuming option, but it does require a bit more research on your part. First, you will need to find a tarot deck that you like and then study the symbolism and meaning of each card. Then, once you understand the tarot, you can start to modify the deck to suit your own needs.
Creating your tarot deck is a great way to get creative with the tarot. It is also a great way to learn more about the tarot and gain a deeper understanding of the symbolism and meanings of the cards.
