Take a good careful look at the Enneagram model, and you will see that each point makes a connection to two other points as well, and that is quite relevant for you to know. These points are the lines or arrows, and they show you that you can take on positive and negative qualities of the other personality types that the points are connected to. That means when they are feeling secure and positive, they display the positive qualities of the numbers that are connected to their number in this particular order:

That means if the type 1 is in a good frame of mind, then he or she will take on the positive qualities of the type 7 and 4 as well. And if the type 7 is in a good frame of mind, then he or she will take on the good qualities of the 5 and 8, and so on.
The other group that takes on the qualities of one another due to their connections are:
3 – 6 – 9 – 3
That means the type 3 will take on the positive qualities of the 6 and 9, the type 6 will take on the positive qualities of the type 3 and 9 and the 9 will take on the positive qualities of the 3 and 6.
For example, if a type 1 is satisfied that he or she attained a goal, then he or she would display the confidence the same way a type 1, 4 and 7 would. If a type 9 made a decision to go after a goal and decided to take on the appropriate action to achieve it, then he or she would display the positive traits of a 3, 6 and 9. All you need to do is read up on the strengths of each personality type in order to see the connection.
For instance, if a type 2 feels as if he or she was not appreciated by being helpful, then he or she will display the possessive and controlling aspects of the type 2. Or if a type 3 feels that he or she is failing and will not achieve what he or she was after, then the type 3 would display the anxiety and pessimism that a type 3 in stress would.

With that said, in the next post what will be covered are the specifics of each of the traits that all personality types would take on when they either integrate or disintegrate into the type that they are connected to.
This alone tells you right there that your main personality type or core is just a significant part of who you are, just as your sun sign is. That is because there are so many other factors when it comes to the Enneagram and your personality type. That is the same way there are other factors when it comes to your personal horoscope which goes beyond the sun sign, as well as the moon sign and the rising sign. Stay tuned for the next post.
