The High Priestess

The High Priestess of the Major Arcana of the tarot is the second card of the deck and this is the one that represents secrets, digging up secrets, mysteries, and unraveling those mysteries, and your intuition. When this card comes up, it shows that you need to pick apart some mysteries, and to use your intuition in order to solve some problems. You have to do this on your own. Another thing that the High Priestess can indicate is that there is a time of being still and to retreat so you can reflect upon any type of situation. Reflect upon anything that is necessary and always trust your instincts to help you get through it.

In other words, if you see this card it means that something around you is not how it appears. You will find that something doesn’t add up. That means that the High Priestess is telling you to trust your intuition to get to the bottom of what is being presented to you.

Let’s go back to the freshman in high school example. The freshman is beginning to know his way around and is becoming more and more familiar with his new journey. However, he is already encountering a problem. A classmate has been acting friendly towards him and even met with him for lunch the other day. But deep down he senses that the classmate does not have his best interest at heart and believes he really is a bully in disguise or a fake friend. The freshman needs to pay attention to his intuition which is screaming this fact at him, and keep an eye on this ‘friend’ for some time because he is bound to slip up at some point.

When the High Priestess card is reversed, it is indicative that there are secrets and information that is purposely being withheld, as well as no harmony on a personal level.
